We are seeking a reliable and hard-working Apartment Property Maintenance Staff member to join our team. This position works under the direction of the Apartment Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for helping maintain the overall condition, safety, and appearance of the property. The ideal candidate is a team player who can handle a variety of hands-on tasks and takes pride in keeping the community in top shape for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with apartment unit renovations and turnovers, including painting, flooring, drywall repair, and general updates
- Perform routine lawn care and groundskeeping, including mowing, trimming, edging, and general landscape upkeep
- Complete snow and ice removal from walkways, parking lots, and common areas during winter months
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, appliance, and HVAC troubleshooting as needed
- Conduct routine inspections of the property and report any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, grounds, and maintenance equipment/work areas
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to keep the property in good working condition
- Follow all safety procedures and property policies while performing job duties
- Assist other maintenance team members and supervisor with additional tasks as assigned
Skills and Requirements
- Previous maintenance, construction, or general labor experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, snow)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents
- Valid driver's license may be required
- Willingness to be on-call or available for emergency maintenance situations as needed
Work Schedule
Full-time position; schedule may vary based on property needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call availability for emergencies (e.g., snow events, urgent repairs).
Compensation
Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
