Private dental practice in Castle Rock is looking for a temporary Registered Dental.We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Temp Hygienist to cover maternity leave in our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of infection control. This temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a welcoming environment while ensuring patients receive comprehensive oral health services. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in dental procedures, patient assessment, and effective communication within a team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing to promote optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support, including managing dental equipment and preparing treatment areas.
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and adherence to healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and handling medical records securely.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services in a pediatric-focused environment when applicable.
Requirements
- Valid dental hygiene license with current registration in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
- Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control practices.
- Ability to accurately review documentation, manage electronic health records (EHR), and perform medical coding when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse age groups.
Hygienist to cover a maternity leave from August through October 30th.We are seeking full-time coverage, but are also willing to consider part-time availability.
