Office of Administration, Division of Accounting (OA-DOA) seeks a qualified professional for the Financial Services Unit.
We are seeking a proactive team player who can apply critical thinking & problem solving in order to assist State Agencies and vendors with questions, inquiries and processes regarding the State Financial System.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Audit Vendor/ACH-EFT applications for accuracy.
- Process Bank reports.
- Reconcile various reports.
- Initiate, process, and review check cancelation documents.
- SAMII Agency Help Desk - Provide State Agencies with assistance regarding the state financial system.
- Review Accounts Receivable Customer Files.
- Assist with 1099 processing for OA-DOA
- Provide assistance to State Agencies and vendors with various inquiries, processes and questions regarding MissouriBUYS.
- Assist with MissouriBUYS supplier file set-up and maintenance.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of the SAM II Financial System and MissouriBUYS.
- Knowledge of Banking Standards in regards to Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) and Automated Clearing House (ACH).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel is desired, but not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the unit and with other OA divisions.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices and ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions
- Two or more years of financial experience with a governmental agency or a private sector accounting, finance or brokerage firm; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in Accounting. (Business or governmental accounting experience (above entry level) involving the maintenance or recording of financial data may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required college education.)
