Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft Avionics Technician to join our dynamic aviation maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex avionics systems on aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft avionics systems using schematics, technical drawings, and CAD software such as CATIA and AutoCAD.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting avionics performance and implement effective solutions.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting documents to diagnose electrical and electronic system faults.
- Utilize specialized industrial tools including soldering equipment, power tools, torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for assembly and repair tasks.
- Perform aircraft maintenance tasks on airframes and mechanical systems related to avionics components in compliance with FAA regulations (Federal Aviation Regulations) and AS9100 standards for quality management.
- Use coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise measurement of sheet metal parts and fabricated components.
- Support flight line maintenance activities by performing equipment repairs and ensuring all work adheres to safety protocols.
- Document all maintenance actions accurately within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on fabrication projects involving sheet metal work or welding to modify or enhance avionics installations.
- Assist in the calibration of electrical testing instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to ensure accurate diagnostics.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with aircraft avionics systems within an aviation maintenance facility or military aviation environment.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge related to aircraft systems repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models using tools like CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Hands-on experience with aviation-specific tools including soldering irons, power tools, torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, and specialized industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), AS9100 standards, and safety procedures related to aircraft maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling large or heavy components during installation or repair tasks.
- Familiarity with military aviation standards and procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on engineering analysis to identify root causes of system failures.
- Excellent interpretive skills for technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting documents.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or aerospace manufacturing processes is a plus.
