About the Role
We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist to provide on-site psychology services at the Potomac Center and Secure Evaluation Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) facility in Hagerstown, Maryland.
This is a part-time contract position (20 hours per week) serving adults with Intellectual Disabilities who may have co-existing mental health disorders and/or forensic court involvement.
The Potomac Center is an intermediate care facility (ICF) licensed for 62 beds; the SETT is a secure forensic facility licensed for 32 beds. Both programs focus on therapeutic interventions that help residents develop skills, reduce maladaptive behaviors, and transition to less restrictive community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight for 3–6 Psychology Associates and their respective caseloads
- Oversee development and implementation of person-centered psychology services and interventions
- Approve and co-sign behavioral support plans, suicide risk assessments, and patient risk documentation (e.g., Sexual Abuse Risk Screens and Sexual Abuse Protection Plans)
- Participate in competency attainment services and ensure psychological services are provided per court orders
- Complete Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) psychological summaries and testify at ALJ hearings
- Complete guardianship evaluations and testify at guardianship hearings
- Attend and contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings; present clinical recommendations
- Maintain required documentation per facility guidelines
- Evaluate factors interfering with each individual's success in the community
- Consult with residential and vocational staff on individual well-being and service coordination
Required Qualifications
- Active license issued by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (doctoral-level: PhD, PsyD, or EdD)
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing psychology services to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (including those with co-existing mental health disorders)
- Ability to pass a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) State and Federal criminal background check, including fingerprinting
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 20 hours per week; flexible scheduling proposed by the psychologist and approved by the Contract Monitor
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (fully loaded; no overtime or holiday pay)

- On-site at Potomac Center/SETT campus: 1380 Marshall Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740
- Secure residential facility; all personnel are subject to security screening, badge/key issuance, and facility policies
