Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team, with extensive travel required to oversee commercial and institutional construction projects across multiple locations. This pivotal role involves leading skilled carpentry crews, interpreting construction plans, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship on every project. As a Lead Carpenter, you will drive project success through expert knowledge of framing, trim, cabinetry, flooring, and restoration work while maintaining safety standards and fostering team collaboration. Duties
- Lead and coordinate carpentry teams on various construction sites, ensuring projects adhere to timelines, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Interpret detailed construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution accurately.
- Perform advanced carpentry tasks including framing, trim installation, cabinet hanging, door hanging, siding, stucco application, and metal stud framing.
- Operate hand tools, power tools for woodworking and metal framing, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control in areas such as drywall finishing, caulking, roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry, rebar installation, and concrete installation.
- Manage material procurement and fabrication processes involving wood and metal construction materials, rebar components, finish materials, and other building supplies.
- Train and mentor junior team members in power tool safety practices and proper use of construction equipment while fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Coordinate with other trades on active jobsites.
- Assist with remodeling projects by coordinating demolition activities and restoring structures to their original or improved condition.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial or institutional carpentry with a strong background in framing, trim carpentry, cabinetry installation, roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating processes and understanding of schematics for complex projects.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols related to power tools for woodworking and general heavy lifting procedures.
- Prior leadership experience managing carpentry crews or supervising multiple projects simultaneously in diverse environments.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients, subcontractors or suppliers while maintaining a focus on quality craftsmanship.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
