About the Role
Trails End Catering makes food that people remember. Weddings, milestone celebrations, corporate events — we show up prepared, we cook with care, and we leave guests genuinely impressed. That reputation is built one plate at a time, and the people in our kitchen are the reason it holds. We're hiring a Cook to join that team. You don't need a resume full of accolades. You need solid kitchen fundamentals, a real work ethic, and the kind of attitude that makes the people around you better. If you take pride in what comes off your station and you're genuinely excited to grow — this is a great place to do it.
What You'll Do
- Prep and produce food for catered events ranging from 10 to 300+ guests
- Follow recipes, prep lists, and lead cook direction with precision and consistency
- Handle guest dietary needs and special requests with care and attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized station and uphold kitchen sanitation standards throughout every shift
- Assist with loading, transport, and on-site setup and breakdown as needed
- Show up ready, communicate openly, and hold your own when the pace picks up
What We're Looking For
Required:
- At least 1 year of kitchen experience — line, prep, or catering
- Washington State Food Handler's Permit (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Active, valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, current insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen
- Comfortable operating a box truck and large transport van
- A positive, coachable attitude — you take direction well and ask good questions
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with catered events — weddings, receptions, or large-format functions
- ServSafe or Food Handler's Certification already in hand
- Comfort with Microsoft Office basics
Hours & Schedule
Hours flex with the event calendar. Spring and Summer are our busiest seasons, with strong earning potential and plenty of hours. Fall and Winter are lighter, with supplemental restaurant shifts available year-round for those who want to stay busy.
Who Thrives Here:
We're not looking for perfection on paper. We're looking for people who care — about the food, about the team, and about doing the job right. The cooks who grow fastest here are the ones who stay curious, bring energy even on long days, and take genuine pride in the work.
No prior catering experience required. A great attitude is worth more to us than a long resume.
