Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, maintaining strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to assist in patient assessments
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including patient examinations and documentation of medical histories
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following infection control standards and laboratory procedures
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
- Support laboratory operations through specimen labeling, processing, and timely delivery to the appropriate testing departments
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings with a focus on specimen collection and processing. Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe blood sampling and patient care
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture (blood sampling), blood collection methods, and vital signs measurement
- Experience in a medical office or primary care setting preferred
- Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining attention to detail under pressure
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
