The Field Foreman/Crew Leader will lead an on-site crew responsible for installing fabricated steel and miscellaneous metal components, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.This position is hands-on—you’ll work alongside your crew in the field while coordinating with project managers and shop staff to deliver high-quality installations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and work alongside installation crews on-site
- Coordinate daily field activities, including manpower, tools, and materials
- Ensure installations are completed per drawings, specs, and safety standards
- Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and field measurements
- Communicate effectively with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors
- Troubleshoot and resolve site issues promptly
- Oversee site safety and enforce OSHA compliance
- Verify field dimensions and assist with layout and fit-up
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Train and mentor new field employees
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in steel or metal installation, erection, or related field work
- 3+ years of leadership or foreman experience preferred
- Strong understanding of steel and miscellaneous metal installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and field details
- Proficient in the use of power tools, rigging, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and fall protection requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to job sites across Pennsylvania and surrounding states
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
