Bio-Med Science Academy is an innovative, progressive, year-round public STEM school that prepares students to succeed in the global economy. The Academy opened in Rootstown, Ohio in August 2012 and received formal STEM designation in April 2013. As a member of the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN), the Academy is a recognized STEM school along with other STEM schools across the state and the country. The Academy strives to attract highly qualified individuals with a passion and drive to rethink education to propel students into the global community with strong roots in 21st century skills.
Position Overview
The Chief of Staff serves as the CEO's principal strategic partner and organizational integrator, ensuring the Academy's vision and priorities are translated into effective execution across the school network. Working collaboratively with the CEO, Chief Administrative Officers, executive leadership, the Governing Authority, Advisory Boards, and the Bio-Med Science Academy Foundation, the Chief of Staff coordinates strategic initiatives, executive operations, leadership communication, and organizational accountability.
This executive leadership position is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Academy's Strategic Plan, monitoring organizational priorities, facilitating executive decision-making, and ensuring leadership teams remain aligned and accountable. The Chief of Staff removes barriers, promotes collaboration, and ensures that strategic initiatives progress efficiently while allowing the CEO to remain focused on vision, advocacy, innovation, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities – Includes but are not limited to:Strategic Execution
- Partner with the CEO to coordinate implementation of the Academy's Strategic Plan and annual organizational priorities.
- Translate executive priorities into actionable plans and monitor progress toward completion.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives that support the Academy's mission and long-term goals.
- Monitor strategic initiatives and identify barriers to successful implementation.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments and campuses to ensure organizational alignment.
- Provide regular progress updates and recommendations to the CEO.
Executive Operations
- Coordinate executive priorities, organizational initiatives, and special projects on behalf of the CEO.
- Prepare executive reports, presentations, Governing Authority materials, and strategic communications.
- Track executive decisions and ensure timely organizational follow-through.
- Coordinate the CEO's organizational priorities and executive workflow.
- Represent the CEO at meetings, community events, and organizational functions as appropriate.
Leadership Coordination
- Coordinate Executive Leadership Team meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Develop agendas, briefing materials, and executive meeting summaries.
- Track leadership commitments, action items, and organizational priorities.
- Foster communication, collaboration, and accountability across leadership teams.
- Coordinate annual planning processes and monitor progress toward organizational goals.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate executive oversight of major Academy initiatives, including campus expansion, capital improvement projects, innovation initiatives, organizational restructuring, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and organizational deliverables.
- Identify implementation challenges and facilitate solutions across departments.
- Coordinate special projects assigned by the CEO and ensure timely execution.
Foundation & Executive Initiatives
- Serve as the executive liaison between the CEO and the Bio-Med Science Academy Foundation.
- Coordinate Foundation Board meetings, communications, and organizational priorities.
- Support fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship activities, sponsorship initiatives, and Foundation events.
- Track grant opportunities, reporting requirements, and philanthropic initiatives.
- Monitor progress toward Foundation fundraising goals and provide executive updates.
- Coordinate Foundation activities to ensure alignment with the Academy's Strategic Plan and organizational priorities.
Organizational Performance
- Develop executive dashboards and organizational performance metrics.
- Monitor progress toward strategic goals and organizational objectives.
- Analyze organizational trends and provide recommendations that support executive decision-making.
- Coordinate reporting systems that improve organizational accountability and transparency.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and organizational monitoring.
Communications
- Coordinate executive communications and organizational messaging.
- Assist with Governing Authority communications and executive presentations.
- Ensure consistent communication across Academy leadership.
- Support communication strategies during organizational initiatives and periods of change.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success coordinating complex organizational initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in strategic planning, project management, executive support, or organizational leadership.
- Strong organizational, operational, and communication skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in K–12 education, nonprofit leadership, or public administration preferred.
- Experience supporting fundraising initiatives, foundation operations, grant administration, or executive project management preferred.
- Knowledge of Ohio's educational landscape preferred.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
