Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Irrigation Manager to lead our Irrigation Crews. The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for overseeing individual irrigation projects, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring the successful installation and/or maintenance of irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a demonstrated history of experience in irrigation, and strong leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of irrigation technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize irrigation installations, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with project timelines and client needs.
- Conduct site evaluations and assessments to determine irrigation system requirements, including water pressure, coverage, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with project managers, landscape architects, and clients to develop irrigation plans and specifications that meet project objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Oversee the installation and programming of irrigation controllers, valves, piping, and other system components, ensuring proper installation techniques and adherence to industry standards.
- Monitor the performance and efficiency of irrigation systems, conducting periodic inspections and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Manage inventory of irrigation supplies, equipment, and materials, ensuring that necessary items are stocked and available for projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including project schedules, labor hours, materials used, and client communications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to provide updates on project progress, address any concerns or issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in irrigation or related field preferred
- Demonstrated experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of irrigation principles, equipment, and systems, including drip irrigation, sprinklers, valves, and controllers
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience supervising and coordinating a team of technicians
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, coworkers, and subcontractors
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting irrigation plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ability to use irrigation tools and equipment effectively, including trenchers, pipe cutters, and troubleshooting devices
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor as needed
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to accommodate project schedules or emergencies
