EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining safe and reliable highways by operating equipment and completing essential roadway tasks. You will support the overall mission of keeping transportation routes open, functional, and safe for the public. As a PennDOT CDL Operator, you will perform the following duties: Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned machineryTraffic Control: Perform flagger duties to guide vehicles safely through work areasManual Labor Tasks: Use hand tools and motorized tools to complete maintenance tasks such as clearing brush, repairing guiderails, and cleaning culvertsEquipment Care: Perform inspections, adjustments, and minor repairs to keep equipment in proper working orderSafety Awareness: Follow all safety procedures and report hazards, incidents, and near misses to support a safe work environmentEnvironmental Compliance: Follow environmental protection practices required for maintenance activitiesInterested in learning more? Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
