General Maintenance & Snow Removal – Apartment Portfolio

About the Company
A well-established and highly reputable real estate company serving the Capital Region of New York is seeking an Experienced, Full-Time General Maintenance and Snow Removal Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of our apartment portfolio.
This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis on winter snow and ice management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in keeping our apartment communities safe and accessible for residents, particularly during snow and ice events.
Position Overview
The General Maintenance & Snow Removal position will be responsible for maintaining apartment buildings, grounds, common areas, parking lots, and sidewalks throughout our portfolio.
Snow removal and winter property maintenance will be a major component of this position. The ideal candidate must be prepared to work extended or irregular hours during winter storms and respond promptly when snow and ice conditions require attention.
Key Responsibilities
Snow & Ice Management — Primary Responsibility
Operate snowplows, skidsteers, snow blowers, spreaders, and other snow-removal equipment.
Plow and clear apartment parking lots and drive lanes efficiently and safely.
Clear sidewalks, walkways, building entrances, steps, and other pedestrian areas of snow and ice.
Apply salt, and other ice-melting materials to sidewalks, entrances, and high-traffic areas.
Monitor properties throughout and following snow and ice events to ensure areas remain safe and accessible.
Perform snow removal during storms and after storms as needed.
Respond to changing weather conditions and additional accumulation throughout the day or overnight.
Maintain and properly operate snow-removal equipment and ensure equipment is ready before winter weather events.
Assist with coordination of snow-removal priorities across multiple apartment properties.
General Property Maintenance
Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout apartment buildings and common areas.
Complete basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, valves, and minor leaks.
Perform painting and touch-up work in apartments, hallways, common areas, and other property spaces.
Complete general cleaning and upkeep of common areas, vacant apartments, mechanical areas, and exterior spaces.
Assist with apartment turnover and make-ready work, including cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and general maintenance.
Perform basic carpentry, drywall, fixture, hardware, and general building repairs.
Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain tools, vehicles, snow equipment, and other company equipment in good working condition.
Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, vendors, and other members of the maintenance team.
Qualifications
Previous experience in snow removal, property maintenance, apartment maintenance, landscaping, or general building maintenance preferred.
Demonstrated ability to safely operate snowplows, snow blowers, spreaders, and related equipment.
Working knowledge of basic plumbing, painting, cleaning, carpentry, and general repairs.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in cold, snow, ice, and other winter weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
