Lead the Financial Operations of One of North Carolina's Premier Luxury Automotive Organizations

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Automotive Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations across our dealership, service, parts, and collision repair divisions. This leadership role works directly with ownership and executive management to drive financial performance, maintain operational excellence, and support the continued growth of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for vehicle sales, service, parts, and collision repair operations.
- Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, profitability, floorplan activity, and inventory accounting.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and title processing functions.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while promoting accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with ownership and department managers on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Coordinate with lenders, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and automotive industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational performance.
- Provide executive leadership with timely financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and accounting processes.
- Experience managing financial operations for multiple departments, including sales, service, parts, and collision repair.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems such as DealerCenter, Tekmetric, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Preferred
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Multi-store or multi-entity accounting experience.
- Experience within luxury automotive retail operations.
