As a Survey & Layout Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects. This position is ideal for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with a strong understanding of construction sequencing, tolerances, and building codes. With your ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and lift plans, you will be an integral part of our construction team. The role requires a candidate who is comfortable working in dynamic field environments and has a collaborative mindset with a commitment to quality and precision.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting and overseeing surveys to establish construction layouts and control systems across job sites.
2. Reading and interpreting construction drawings, shop drawings, and lift plans.
3. Ensuring compliance with construction sequencing, tolerances, and building codes.
4. Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
5. Validating field conditions and providing as-built documentation as required.
6. Maintaining survey logs, field notes, and digital records in compliance with QA/QC standards.
7. Managing assigned equipment and procuring consumable materials used in layout operations.
8. Collaborating with team members to ensure quality and precision in all projects.
9. Proactively identifying and solving problems to prevent project delays and cost overruns.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in surveying and layout engineering.
2. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, tolerances, and building codes.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, shop drawings, and lift plans.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
6. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
7. Comfortable working in dynamic field environments.
8. Collaborative mindset with a commitment to quality and precision.
9. Experience in maintaining survey logs, field notes, and digital records in compliance with QA/QC standards.
10. Ability to manage assigned equipment and procure consumable materials used in layout operations.
