Transmission Installer / R&R Technician – General Automotive Repair

Modern Transmission Repair is a busy, growing transmission and driveline shop serving the Pittsburgh area. We are looking for an experienced Transmission Installer / R&R Technician who can efficiently remove and install transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, and perform general automotive repairs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants consistent work, a clean shop, quality equipment, and a team that values professionalism and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Remove and reinstall automatic and manual transmissions
- Remove and install transfer cases, differentials, and driveline components
- Perform general automotive repairs including suspension, steering, brakes, cooling system, and engine-related repairs
- Diagnose basic mechanical concerns
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify additional maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate repair documentation
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all shop safety procedures
Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician experience required
- Transmission R&R experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Valid driver’s license
- Own professional hand tools
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required

$25–$40 per hour depending on experience
Schedule
