Overview
We're looking for college students to join the Farah Care-a family and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families! In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes childhood development and learning. Your enthusiasm and caring nature will help children thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. This is a great position for university students looking for a part-time role in the South Bay!
Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, motor development and social skills.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by following health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary. As such, basic CPR or BLS is necessary for this role
- Support infants and toddlers with their daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and developmental milestones
- Assist with basic home care, activity planning, and potentially work on educational lessons
- Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and needs effectively
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children
- Knowledge of basic childhood development standards and enrichment strategies
- Familiarity with toddler care routines, infant care techniques, and behavior management
- Strong classroom experience or caregiving background demonstrating patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for child development
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families and team members
Requirements
- Valid CPR certification, or willing to get it prior to work
- Driver's license and reliable transportation
- Availability at least three days a week, or minimum 12 hours a week
- Ability to lift and transport 45 lbs
Pay: $27.00 per hour
