Overview
Young America Realty is seeking an experienced, motivated and customer-focused Residential Leasing Agent to join our Residential Division. This role is key to helping prospective residents find their next home while supporting leasing goals, customer service standards, and overall team success.
The ideal candidate is sales-driven, professional, highly organized, and comfortable guiding prospects through the leasing process from first inquiry to signed lease.
Responsibilities
As a Residential Leasing Agent, you will:
- Engage with prospective residents and guide them through the leasing process
- Conduct apartment showings and promote available units within the residential portfolio
- Convert inquiries and tours into signed leases through strong closing skills
- Develop extensive knowledge of Young America Realty’s residential properties
- Communicate timely and consistently with prospects and residents using established CRM processes
- Accurately explain property features, benefits, promotions, and leasing incentives
- Process applications for prospective residents
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents
- Create and maintain accurate leasing paperwork
- Keep personal and team calendars updated for tours and office coverage
- Conduct move-in appointments and inspections with new residents
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and better leverage AppFolio
- Comply with all Fair Housing regulations and requirements
Qualifications
- Strong prospecting, sales, and closing skills
- Demonstrated success in a sales-driven environment
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents and prospects
- Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills
- Willingness to learn and maintain detailed product knowledge
Requirements
- 2 years of sales or leasing experience required and 3-5 years preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Illinois Leasing License required within 120 days of employment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general office software
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License, vehicle insurance, and reliable, well-maintained transportation
Schedule
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift. During high-volume periods, additional or varying hours may be required to meet customer and leasing needs.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
