Position: Machining & Welding Technician
Location: Independence, KY
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: In-House Repair Manager
Purpose: The Machining & Fabrication Technician supports the refurbishment and repair of manufactured parts and equipment. This role involves metal fabrication, welding, machining support, and general shop responsibilities to ensure high-quality repairs and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform metal fabrication, surface cleaning, and weld preparation.
· Complete welding repairs and rework as required.
· Polish parts and components using a manual lathe.
· Sandblast and paint parts or equipment as needed.
· Drill, tap, and reclaim threaded holes.
· Perform brazing, soldering, and welding of metal components.
· Participate in scheduled workplace care and maintenance activities.
· Take part in inter-company and intra-company training programs.
· Collaborate with various Flottweg US (FWUS) departments as needed.
· Periodically travel to FWSE for training or company-related functions.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
· Intermediate skills with mechanical tools, measuring equipment, and interpreting technical data.
· Moderate experience with MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding.
· Manual lathe operating experience.
· Proactive, disciplined team player with the ability to manage time-sensitive and dynamic tasks.
Eligibility Requirements:
· 3-5 years of relevant experience
· Moderate organizational, communication, and basic computer skills.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
· English fluency required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
