MATERIAL HANDLER/FORKLIFT- 1st Shift
Description of Job:
The Material Handler must maintain a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and productivity, as well as safety, while utilizing warehouse equipment to prepare, stage and load orders for shipping.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with sort line to retrieve completed pallets and move them to wrapper.
- Prepare and attach shipping labels.
- Operate stretch wrapper machines in a safe and efficient manner.
- Stage orders for shipment in an orderly fashion while maintaining system integrity.
- Process orders based on specific mode of transportation (ex: LTL, Truck).
- Ensure accurate counts and weights for outbound shipments.
- Verify orders pulled by other associates as needed.
- Responsible for inventory and order accuracy at all times.
- Safely utilize tow motor to transport, stage, and load orders.
- Assist in any other areas of distribution as needed, including picking, stacking/sorting, pallet breakdowns and inventory control.
- Work overtime as needed.
Education & Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years shipping experienced preferred
- 1 year utilizing a handheld scanner
- Licensed tow motor driver
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills applicable to locating and shipping orders
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
- Walking/standing/sitting for long periods of time
