Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with skill and attention to detail
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all kitchen areas
- Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to preserve quality and freshness
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep offerings innovative and exciting
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment
- Uphold restaurant policies and procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced culinary environment
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient pairing
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
