Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every pie.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new toppings or specialty pizzas to enhance customer options.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards by following sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices.
- Support food production during high-volume periods, ensuring timely service without compromising quality.
- Follow food safety management protocols and adhere to recipe guidelines for ingredient measurements and cooking techniques like braising, poaching, grilling, and food preparation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service.
Skills
- Prior experience in food handling, restaurant cooking, or culinary roles with a focus on pizza or similar cuisine.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management practices.
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and food production.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and respond effectively to customer needs.
- A background in dietary aide experience or dietary department experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary requests.
