Residential Handyman / Drywall Technician (1099 Contractor)
FM3 Construction is looking for an experienced handyman who takes pride in producing high-quality work. We are not looking for someone who can simply patch drywall—we need someone who can complete repairs that are virtually unnoticeable and match existing textures with confidence.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position serving Katy, Houston, Richmond, Fulshear, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Level 4 and Level 5 drywall repairs
- Tape, bed, float, sand, and texture matching
- Interior painting and paint touch-ups
- Hang, adjust, and repair interior and exterior doors
- Install and repair trim, baseboards, casing, and other finish carpentry
- Cabinet and hardware installation
- Caulking and finish work
- Light framing and general carpentry
- Minor fence and exterior repairs
- Basic plumbing troubleshooting and repairs
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs (switches, receptacles, lighting, etc.)
- General residential maintenance, punch-list items, and make-ready work
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of residential repair or handyman experience preferred
- Must be able to perform drywall repairs that blend seamlessly with existing finishes
- Must be experienced at matching a variety of wall and ceiling textures
- Strong finish carpentry skills
- Ability to troubleshoot basic plumbing and electrical issues
- Own reliable transportation
- Own professional-grade hand and power tools
- Smartphone for photos, communication, and work orders
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Professional appearance and customer-friendly attitude
- Authorized to work in the United States

Important
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, transportation, and tools. Compensation is paid via direct deposit.
