Join Our Custom Drapery Team!
We are a growing custom drapery and soft furnishings business seeking motivated individuals to join our workroom team. Whether you are just beginning to learn sewing or are a highly skilled seamstress with years of experience, we welcome applicants at all skill levels. Compensation will be determined based on experience, abilities, and productivity.
About the Position
You will assist with the creation of custom window treatments, draperies, Roman shades, decorative pillows, and other soft home furnishings. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Sew and assemble custom draperies, shades & pillows
- Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics
- Operate industrial and sewing machines
- Follow work orders and design specifications
- Press, finish, and inspect completed products for quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with packaging and installation preparation as needed
Qualifications
Entry-Level Candidates:
- Basic sewing knowledge preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Attention to detail
- Reliable and dependable
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Experienced Candidates:
- Prior experience in drapery, upholstery, alterations, tailoring, or custom sewing preferred
- Ability to read workroom specifications and patterns
- Experience with industrial sewing equipment
- Strong craftsmanship and quality control skills
Pay Structure
- Entry-Level / Trainee: Starting pay based on existing sewing knowledge and ability to learn.
- Intermediate Sewers: Higher pay based on demonstrated sewing and construction skills.
- Experienced Drapery Professionals: Competitive pay commensurate with experience, efficiency, and expertise.

- Basic knowledge of sewing machine operation, including sewing, serging, etc.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and fabric materials used in commerical sewing, garment construction or upholstery.
- Ability to interpret drawings or patterns
- Strong attention to detail with an understanding of quality standards in production processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to textile manufacturing and machine operation.
- Prior experience in sewing, manual cutting (fabric cutting), or upholstery work is advantageous but not mandatory; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply!
