Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed and accurate service orders, including descriptions of issues, recommended repairs, and estimated costs
- Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and clarify repair requirements
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services to maximize customer satisfaction and shop revenue
- Provide clear explanations of repair procedures, costs, and timelines to customers to ensure transparency and trust
- Manage auto estimating processes using dealership or shop management software to generate accurate repair quotes
- Handle cash transactions, process payments securely, and maintain precise financial records
Requirements
- Previous dealership or auto service management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with automotive repair services including oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, diesel engine work, shocks & struts, air brake systems, tire service, and auto body repair
- Experience with auto estimating software and sales techniques to promote additional services
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Mechanical knowledge gained through mechanic experience or automotive technician background is highly desirable
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; dealership experience is a plus
