American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift position at a comprehensive stroke center, requiring 2 years of Neuro ICU or comprehensive stroke center experience and Epic proficiency.

13-week contract assignment in a hospital Neuro ICU setting
-
Fast-paced ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders including seizures and strokes at a comprehensive stroke center
-
Also treats overflow patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU
-
Patient ratio of 1:3
-
Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
-
Required to work every other weekend and holiday

Epic EMR experience required
-
Floating required, including to Main Campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood), with travelers prioritized for floating assignments

Active RN license (any state or compact) currently in hand
-
No past license disciplinary action accepted

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS with ability to read and interpret strips

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital with some neuro experience required

Epic charting system experience required

Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Previous charge experience preferred

Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, EVD and ICP monitoring, and CVA/acute stroke management

Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgery cases

Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and complex cardiac, respiratory, and renal needs

Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered as local candidates are not accepted

Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency employees not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying as a traveler and require facility rehire approval

Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no additions after offer
