As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking a dependable and hands-on Crew Foreman to lead one of our Medium Voltage Cable Plow crews in the Renewable Energy space. The Foreman will be responsible for planning and executing daily field operations, coordinating crews and equipment, and ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to ROHL’s quality standards.
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Crew Foreman is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily construction and installation activities on assigned worksites. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, while providing hands-on leadership and direction to field crews consisting of 8-10 workers. This individual, along with their 8-10 man worker, all work to plow and install Medium Voltage and Fiber cabling. To do this, these crews use a variety of equipment including Caterpillar D8T’s with Bron Cable Plow attachments, excavators, and additional support vehicles. The Crew Superintendent and assigned crew will work across the Southeastern United States, with each project typically lasting three weeks on-site with one week off in between. The superintendent will receive a company truck, fuel card, and up to $150.00 per diem daily. Travel costs between sites and home will be covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project scope and execute key tasks, including hands-on field work as required.
- Organize and coordinate daily activities of crew members, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Coordinate crew travel, lodging, and rental equipment for each project.
- Plan and schedule equipment and manpower requirements in coordination with the Project Manager or General Manager.
- Review grade sheets and ensure accuracy.
- Review and approve crew timecards.
- Document relevant project information, including site conditions, personnel matters, and scope changes.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate crew members while promoting company values and a strong work ethic.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct tool and equipment safety training for crew members.
- Perform job site safety audits as directed by safety personnel.
Must Have Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Foreman in Cable Plow or trenching operations
- Underground utility experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong understanding of construction procedures and safety practices.
- Proficient with mobile devices and basic construction-related software.
- Knowledge of equipment operation, utilization, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
