Embracing Freedom is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides advocacy, mentoring, and intervention for children who are victims, or suspected of being victims, of child sex trafficking. We are an established organization with deep roots in the community and a record of successful advocacy in the fight against child sex trafficking in Southeast Texas. Position Summary
The Communications & Events Coordinator supports Embracing Freedom's marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts by coordinating events, digital communications, promotional materials, website content, and providing administrative support. This position plays a key role in maintaining the organization's public presence, leading fundraising initiatives, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring consistent communication with donors, partners, and the community.
Communications & Marketing
- Schedule and manage awareness content across organizational social media platforms.
- Develop resource guides for education and awareness
- Assist in drafting newsletters, email campaigns, promotional materials, and organizational communications.
- Update website content and maintain accuracy of public-facing information.
- Assist with storytelling initiatives and organizational impact communications.
- Coordinate media opportunities, press releases, and public relations activities.
- Ensure consistency of organizational branding and messaging.
- Monitor communication analytics, engagement metrics, and campaign performance.
- Maintain branding resources, marketing materials, templates, photos, and communication tools for organizational use.
Administrative & Database Support
- Support donor database maintenance, record management, and data entry.
- Assist with communication systems, digital tools, and online forms used for fundraising and outreach efforts.
- Prepare reports and maintain documentation for VOCA grant, events, communications, sponsorships, and in-kind donations in accordance with grant requirements.
- Provide administrative support for fundraising, communications, and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Events & Fundraising Support
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and special events.
- Manage event timelines, logistics, registration processes, and planning schedules.
- Coordinate communication with vendors, sponsors, donors, and event participants.
- Sponsorship fulfillment and donor recognition activities.
- Coordinate silent auction procurement, tracking, and event documentation.
- Solicit, coordinate, track, and document in-kind donations for fundraising events and organizational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of in-kind contributions and assist with donor acknowledgment and receipt processes.
- Manage event registration systems and attendee communications.
- Assist with event setup, execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Maintain event records, donor documentation, and reporting information.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Nonprofit Management, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in communications, marketing, event planning, fundraising, nonprofit administration, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing social media platforms and coordinating events preferred.
- Experience working with volunteers, donors, community partners, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
- Experience using Canva, website content management systems, email marketing platforms, donor databases, or similar software preferred.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and organizational activities.

- Exceptional organization and follow-through with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities with strong attention to detail
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Experience creating social media content, marketing materials, and organizational communications.
- Ability to coordinate events, manage logistics, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Proficiency with Mac computers, Google Workspace, Canva, and social media platforms.
- Ability to learn and utilize organizational software systems, databases, and communication tools.
- Professional, positive, and relationship-focused approach when interacting with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

Abuse Risk Management Requirements:
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth
- Attends required abuse risk management training
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements
- Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities
- Routinely monitors high-risk locations
- Ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility
The Communications & Events Coordinator reports to the Assistant Chief Officer.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
