About the job:
We are currently hiring for a Porter which will be responsible for heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Approximately 5 days per week, six hours per shift.
- Clean, scrub, wax and buff floors in the sales area. These duties include the operation of a power floor cleaning machine.
- Maintain good condition of baseboards in the sales area.
- Clean and scrub associate break room and all restrooms.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors using cleaner, sponges or squeegees.
- Gather and empty trash throughout the store.
- Maintain equipment used, notifying management immediately of any damage or malfunction.
- Notify Managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Maintain inventory levels for all equipment and supplies, request to order supplies as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a non-stationary position for 90 percent of the time. The individual needs to frequently move about inside the store to perform cleaning duties. The person performing this job must position self to crouch, bend, reach, and grasp when cleaning certain areas of the store. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers when interacting. The individual must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 20 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally when removing trash and moving objects to clean.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The individual performing this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures due to weather conditions and outside temperatures.
