Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
- Engage with children through interactive lessons, play-based activities, and hands-on learning experiences aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a positive environment that encourages participation and fosters behavior management strategies.
- Support children with special education needs and early intervention programs to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, including assessments related to childhood development milestones and standardized testing when applicable.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, behavior, and developmental needs effectively.
- Uphold child welfare standards by ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times and maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment.
Requirements
- Prior classroom management experience in daycare or preschool settings is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, including Montessori methods and toddler care techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and working with children across various age groups.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention strategies, and literacy education methods.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions.
- Relevant certifications in childhood development or early childhood education are advantageous; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
