Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team in the greater Los Angeles area. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and efficiency of HVAC systems across various properties. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will help keep our clients’ environments comfortable and operational while adhering to safety standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and schematics
- Conduct system inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate, including refrigerant leaks or electrical faults
- Repair and replace components such as compressors, motors, valves, and piping—utilizing welding skills when necessary
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and HVAC design plans for accurate installation and repairs
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs for all work performed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to ammonia refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, and property maintenance
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems with a strong mechanical background
- Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation projects
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology including ammonia refrigeration systems
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving boilers, appliances, welding tools, and mechanical components
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively in troubleshooting scenarios
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Strong understanding of property maintenance procedures and field service operations
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC/R systems—air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, ventilation equipment—and appliance repair skills
- Experience working with field service teams on large-scale projects or maintenance contracts
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team
