Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Tablet Press Setup/Operator for our Night Shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and troubleshooting of tablet compression equipment used in the production of oral solid dosage products. The operator will work with another setup operator to perform equipment changeovers and ensure tablet presses are running efficiently while meeting all quality and cGMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up tablet press machines for production according to batch records and SOPs.
- Work with another setup operator to perform machine setup and product changeovers.
- Install, remove, and adjust punches, dies, feeders, and other tooling components.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble tablet press equipment after production runs and changeovers.
- Operate tablet compression machines during manufacturing.
- Monitor tablet weight, thickness, hardness, appearance, and other in-process quality parameters.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report equipment malfunctions requiring maintenance.
- Perform line clearance and equipment inspections before and after production.
- Accurately complete batch records, equipment logs, and production documentation.
- Load raw materials and unload finished product safely.
- Maintain compliance with cGMP regulations, SOPs, FDA guidelines, and company safety procedures.
- Report quality deviations, equipment issues, or production concerns to the Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
- 1-3 years of tablet press, compression, or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with tablet press setup and tooling changeovers.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble compression equipment.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and adjustment skills.
- Knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read batch records, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to wear required PPE in a manufacturing environment.
