Summary
As an Optometric Assistant at Vision Source Hamilton, you will play a vital role in supporting our optometrists and enhancing the patient experience. Located in a dynamic healthcare environment, this position allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients while developing your skills in optometry.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Perform preliminary tests such as measuring visual acuity, obtaining digital imaging, and taking vital signs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination area and equipment.
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or optometry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical records management, patient care protocols, and a familiarity with eyecare terminology and procedures are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Saturday morning and Monday evening availability is required on a weekly basis.
