CDL Class A Driver – AM Shift (Temp-to-Hire)

Position Overview
We are hiring 2 CDL Class A Drivers for an AM shift in Avondale, AZ. This is a hybrid driving and yard hostler role offering a combination of hourly pay, mileage pay, and stop pay for excellent earning potential.
This is a physically active position involving the delivery of refrigerated and dry products to retail locations. If you're looking for steady hours, overtime opportunities, and a path to permanent employment, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay
- $16.50/hour while performing yard hostler duties
- $0.54 per mile (local and remote routes)
- $1.58 per local stop
- Additional $2.54 per remote stop
- Overtime paid after 40 hours worked
Schedule
- Start Time: 4:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 50 hours per week
- Weekends are required
- Two split days off each week (for example, Tuesday & Sunday or Wednesday & Saturday)
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle.
- Perform yard hostler duties as needed.
- Deliver refrigerated and dry goods to retail locations.
- Unload and stock frozen products.
- Deliver and put away dry goods.
- Break down pallets and move products using dollies and liftgates.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Clean driving record
- Ability to perform heavy touch freight throughout the shift
- Comfortable using liftgates and dollies
- Dependable with a strong commitment to safety
- Must be available to work weekends
