Job Description:
The Construction Materials Testing Technician conducts field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials at project sites (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel). They communicate with project stakeholders, transport material samples to the laboratory for testing, and prepare written and digital reports of findings. They also maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards.
Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. $18 to $22 per hour.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
- Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
- Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
- Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
- Maintains assigned equipment.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
