Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide services outlined in the Person-Centered Plan for each individual supported by ASCC, ensuring that goals developed, implemented, and progress toward those goals are being met
- Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living activities in the home and community
- Administer medication(s) according to guidelines Aid in implementing treatments, training programs, and developmental/behavioral plans
- Encourage community participation
- Document all observations and daily progress notes
- Monitor and report any concerns regarding an individual’s living conditions; ensure Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and OHCQ regulations are met for all home environments
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Assist individuals in performing their cleaning responsibilities
- Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and shopping
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have Driver's License and personal vehicle
- Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication management, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL) to support residents who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or memory care needs.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts.

- Successful clearance of background checks (Required)
- Basic computer skills and detail-oriented
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, sit and walk for periods of time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
