Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Epidemiology Analyst. This Epidemiology Analyst will serve as the Assistant Epidemiologist for the CDC HIV Centers for Outbreak Response Enhancement (C-CORE) grant. Under the supervision of the Project Epidemiologist, they will: conduct complex data management and data analyses of HIV surveillance data for the purposes of HIV cluster detection, utilize SAS to perform routine time-space and molecular cluster detection following guidance provided by CDC, prepare timely data dissemination products (i.e., presentations, fact sheets, reports, and Power BI dashboards) to characterize HIV cluster data, and perform investigation needed to inform evidenced-based decision-making for cluster response actions. The Epidemiologist may be expected to support other project activities including developing: monitoring and evaluation plans, protocols for qualitative data analysis and other supplementary analysis to support cluster response planning, data tools (e.g., Qualtrics surveys) in English and Spanish needed for implementing pilot projects, and dashboard reports to summarize project metrics.
In addition, they will participate in all CDC-sponsored meetings and conference calls and assist with preparing reports and/or abstracts to disseminate to local, state and federal stakeholders.
The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 12/31/26, with the good chance of extension.
Pay Rate: $33.70/hr working 40 hours a week

Requirements:
- A masters degree from an accredited college with specialization in epidemiology, biostatistics, or its equivalent;
- Proficiency in SAS; and
- A valid Class C California Drivers License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
- The ideal candidate will have a combination of proficiency in applied epidemiological methods and analysis, experience with SAS and PowerBI. Spanish speaker is preferred. This position is expected to work a hybrid schedule, with 2 days in the office (downtown Los Angeles) each week.
