Summary
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dish room, food service equipment and wares used in meal preparation and service; stocking food and supply deliveries and maintaining orderliness of supplies in the storeroom, walk-ins and freezer; restocking of dishwashing supplies and cleaning agents; clean-up of rooms as needed.
Essential Functions

Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing silverware, glassware, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and other equipment used in meal preparation.
Busses tables and side stations throughout service and returns soiled dishware, etc. to dish room.
Assists cooks and prep cooks in food preparation duties when needed.
Completes assigned daily cleaning duties, such as cleaning of serving equipment, reach-in refrigerators, and other related tasks.
Required Skills/Abilities
Consistent execution of quality customer service. Maintains and demonstrates ethical conduct. Able to effectively communicate with geriatric and/or confused residents and a variety of other people such as family members, visitors, vendors, Private Duty Residents, and staff. Positive and constructive attitude. Must be able to read, and follow oral and written instructions given in English.
Working Environment & Physical Demands
This position is required to regularly work on campus.
Works in a well-lit and well-ventilated facility. May be exposed to confused, belligerent or physically aggressive residents, may be exposed to contagious diseases and mental stress. Subject to frequent interruptions. Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing is required. Must be able to read products labels and distinguish colors. May be exposed to heat, water, steam and odor from food preparation. Is exposed to the risk for slipping on wet floors.
Required Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
Must obtain a Food Handler's Card for the State of Oregon within 30 days of hire.
