Part-Time Evening Janitor/Custodian
Totally Tidy Maid & Janitorial Services is hiring a dependable part-time janitor/custodian to clean two commercial buildings alongside another member of our team.
Location: Near Loop 610 and Buffalo Speedway in Houston
Pay: $15–$16 per hour
Start time: Approximately 5:00–5:30 p.m.
Hours: Approximately 8-9 hours per week
Typical schedule:
- Monday: Approximately 1.75 hours
- Tuesday: Approximately 1.75 hours
- Wednesday: Approximately 1.5 hours
- Thursday: Off
- Friday: Approximately 1.5–3 hours (Saturday: Occasionally 1.5 hours "if" the second building is not cleaned Friday evening)
Depending on the weekly schedule, the employee will work 4-5 evenings per week. Each building takes approximately 1.5–1.75 hours to clean.
Responsibilities include:
- Sweeping and mopping large floor areas
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Cleaning kitchens, offices, lobbies, hallways, and other common areas
- Dusting furniture, fixtures, and office areas
- Emptying trash and replacing liners
- Completing all assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly and efficiently
Important physical requirement: A significant portion of this position involves sweeping and mopping a large amount of floor space. Applicants must have the physical stamina to mop continuously for extended periods and maintain a steady working pace. This position may not be suitable for someone who has difficulty with repetitive movement or physically active work.
Qualified applicants must:
- Genuinely enjoy cleaning and take pride in creating clean spaces
- Be highly dependable, punctual, and consistent
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Have a positive, energetic, professional, and friendly attitude
- Be able to remain on their feet throughout the shift
- Be able to climb stairs, bend, squat, sweep, and mop repeatedly
- Have reliable transportation
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Because this is a small cleaning team of two people, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Each team member depends on the other to arrive on time and complete their portion of the cleaning.
