Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapy Tech to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and exercises using proper patient transfer methods while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support physical therapists during therapy sessions by preparing treatment areas and handling equipment efficiently.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy, documenting progress accurately in accordance with healthcare standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations.
- Facilitate patient intake procedures, including initial assessments and gathering relevant medical history related to physiotherapy needs.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, repositioning, and assisting with gait training for patients with orthopedic, geriatrics, or acute care needs.
- Use medical terminology accurately when documenting treatments or communicating with healthcare professionals to ensure clarity and professionalism.
Experience
- Prior experience working in hospital or clinical settings, particularly within inpatient or post-acute care environments.
- Hands-on practice in practicing physical therapy roles with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods, heavy lifting techniques, and safe manual handling procedures.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine practices related to orthopedics, geriatrics, and sub-acute care settings.
- Experience supporting patients through rehabilitation programs involving mobility aids and physiotherapy equipment.
- CPR certification is required; additional certifications in acute care or hospital-based therapy support are advantageous.
- Strong client communication skills paired with an understanding of medical terminology to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
