Overview
We are looking for a motivated Part Time Pharmacy Certified Technician to join our pharmacy team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy department, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, patient care, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for healthcare, strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV admixture procedures and compounding medications using aseptic techniques.
- Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy software systems while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions and providing basic medication information.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering medications, and managing expiration dates efficiently.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions about medications, usage instructions, and health concerns.
- Follow all safety protocols related to sterile IV infusion procedures and pharmaceutical calculations to ensure safe medication administration.
Skills
- Prior experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and acute care practices.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and data entry procedures.
- Strong understanding of sterile compounding techniques, aseptic procedures, and IV infusion preparation.
- Ability to adhere strictly to state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and pharmacy laws.
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Basic life support certification is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
