Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and demonstrate proficiency in various technical skills. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with other team members to support daily operations and contribute to the overall success of our facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise.
- Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems.
- Utilize welding skills for repairs and modifications as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing issues effectively.
- Conduct residential painting projects to maintain aesthetic standards within the facility.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff, providing guidance and leadership when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing facility-related concerns from staff and visitors promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs on various equipment types.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques is essential.
- Experience in manufacturing environments is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of industrial operations.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Previous supervisory experience is advantageous, showcasing leadership abilities within a maintenance context.
