Location: Sumter, SC 29153
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Assignment Dates: 06/22/2026 – 06/19/2027
Position Type: Temporary assignment with opportunity to extend and/or convert to permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs.
Schedule: H Shift Schedule
3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off
Repeating schedule
Monday through Sunday
8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Position Summary:
The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, optimizing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment while ensuring production standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures are consistently met. This position supports manufacturing operations through preventative maintenance, equipment monitoring, quality checks, and process improvement activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Operate, optimize, and maintain assigned production equipment
- Meet and exceed production standards while maintaining product quality
- Minimize and prevent equipment downtime
- Sustain budgeted waste levels
- Maintain accurate equipment logs
- Record downtime and maintenance issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Start up equipment and verify proper functionality
- Monitor component inventories and safety guards
- Maintain a clean and organized production environment
- Monitor in-process quality and address issues as needed
- Perform required quality control checks and process challenges
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality system requirements
- Support upstream and downstream operations
- Perform rework activities as required
- Work effectively in a team environment
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Maintenance repair, mechanical experience, or mechanical proficiency required
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience preferred
- 6 to 12 months of manufacturing experience desired
- Proficiency with basic hand tools required
- Familiarity with bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves
- Familiarity with sensors, photo-eyes, scales, reed switches, and VFDs
- Experience or exposure to PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics desired
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Ability to work any shift as needed
- Clear and legible handwriting required
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to follow safety and quality procedures
