Production Lead
The Production Lead is responsible for the efficient operation of the production machines during their shift, he or she will direct the Machine Operator and ensure the machines continue running in an efficient and safe manner that allows for execution of production goals. The Production Lead will be responsible to ensure feeders do not run out of parts and will coordinate with the Production Supervisor to troubleshoot as needed in order to successfully clear the alarm codes the machine displays and will ensure the assembly area is maintained in constant state of organization and cleanliness. In the absence of the Production Supervisor, this position reports to the General Manager.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK
Duties and responsibilities are not limited to and are as follows:

Perform all work in accordance with the highest standards of Smurfit Westrock-Vitop safety policies, ensure all safety policies and processes are enforced.

Ensure safe, efficient production with minimum waste.
-
Process all reports completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
-
Ensure the performance and documentation of quality control checks.
-
Maintain established quality standards, machine efficiencies, and production levels.
-
Communicate these standards to staff.
-
Successfully complete all essential training.
-
Work directly with oversight of assembly room hoppers, feeders, vacuum loaders, and material conveyor systems. Perform alarm troubleshooting.

Perform part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.

Generate documentation on changes that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility.

Follow established procedures in order to maintain a clean and organized environment.

Adhere to lock-out tag-out policy and procedures.
-
Preform all duties safely and efficiently.
-
Provide training and explain responsibilities of position to new team members.
-
Work with all departments to meet daily tasks.
-
Assist other team members and departments as directed by supervisor.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualification/Experience
-
High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experiences in a manufacturing environment.
-
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include overtime and weekend assignments.
-
Ability to work in a team environment and rotate jobs or shifts as needed.
-
Experience with basic hand tools required.
-
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Knowledge
-
Knowledge of safety practices and expectations.
-
Knowledge of quality practices and expectations, and respect for product.
-
Ability to effectively communicate.
-
Knowledge of OSHA requirements to include Machine Guarding and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
-
Knowledge of Safety ,5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.

Understanding standard work (SOP’s).

Understands and follows Company’s quality and corporate/environmental policies.

Understands and follows procedures and work instructions established by Smurfit Westrock - Vitop, USA.
