At Jireh Asphalt & Concrete, we're built on People, Passion, and Pride. We're a fast-growing, family-owned construction company and we need a skilled Fleet Mechanic to keep our trucks and equipment safe, reliable, and job-ready. This is not a public auto shop -- you'll be supporting our internal fleet at our Mukilteo yard, with occasional field calls to job sites. A dedicated shop is in the works, and you'll have a real voice in how we build it.
Position Overview:
We're hiring a Gas & Diesel Mechanic who can handle a wide range of vehicles and construction equipment. If you're the type who takes pride in their work, keeps things running right, and doesn't wait to be told what needs attention -- you'll fit right in here.
What You'll Do:
- Perform preventative maintenance on pickups, medium/heavy trucks, trailers, and small construction equipment (oil/filters, belts, fluids, tires, brakes, batteries)
- Complete thorough safety inspections (brakes, lights, steering, tires, leaks) and document all corrective actions
- Diagnose and repair minor gas and diesel issues -- major engine/trans overhauls are outsourced
- Use diagnostic scan tools to troubleshoot and confirm repairs
- Provide mobile support to nearby job sites for quick fixes and diagnostics
- Handle light 12V wiring and electrical work (work lights, trailer plugs, beacons) and basic hydraulics
- Maintain accurate service records and help build out PM schedules and parts inventory
- Play an active role in shaping our future shop setup -- tools, layout, and processes
Typical Equipment You'll Work On:
Pickups (gas/diesel), dump trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini-excavators, rollers, compactors, plate tampers, and seasonal snow equipment (plows, salters).
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Gas or Diesel Mechanic/Tech (construction fleet experience a plus)
- Comfortable with PM programs, safety inspections, and minor repairs
- Able to diagnose issues with scan tools and follow through to a complete fix
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (insurable)
- CDL is a strong plus -- not required
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in a yard and job-site environment
- Self-starter, organized, and safety-minded
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Tools: Bring your core hand tools. We provide shop and specialty tools and will invest in additional equipment as the shop grows.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $20-$40/hr based on experience + bonus opportunities

Work Environment:
- Based at our yard: 8423 Mukilteo Speedway, Suite 101, Mukilteo, WA 98275
- Mostly day shift with occasional after-hours support during urgent needs (snow events, etc.)
- Safety is non-negotiable -- we follow company policies and DOT best practices
