Putnam County Hospital is looking for a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join our team! This position would work 8 hours shifts with weekend availability as well. Shift differential would apply for night and weekend shifts. The ability to conduct PFTs is highly desired, but not required.
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist will administer respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities and will train and act as a resource for respiratory department technicians
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Administers all respiratory care as ordered by a provider
Completes continuing education and in-services to remain current with respiratory care practices
Records patient treatment, response, and progress
Inspects, tests, maintains, and operates respiratory therapy equipment
Responds to "code blue" calls and assists by maintaining the patient's airway and performing CPR
Give thorough and accurate report to oncoming staff at end of shift
Provides indicated respiratory care education to patients and family
Invasive and noninvasive ventilation, ABG collection and interpretation, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, pulmonary hygiene
Performs other duties as assigned

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Indiana
Graduate of CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved school of Respiratory Care
BLS and ACLS within 60 days of hire
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn hospital's electronic medical record (CPSI)
Ability to work with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Abides by HIPAA guidelines
PALS and NRP certifications preferred
Familiarity with invasive and non-invasive ventilation techniques
