Job Summary
Absolute Excellence Preparatory Academy is seeking a warm, experienced, and faith-aligned Preschool Lead Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate is a nurturing early childhood professional who understands the unique developmental needs of toddlers and creates a classroom experience that is as loving as it is intentional. In this role, you will guide young scholars through structured play, early language development, social-emotional growth, and foundational learning — all within a Christ-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, faith-integrated daily lesson plans and activities for 2-year-old scholars
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of toddlers
- Integrate age-appropriate Biblical principles, prayer, and Christian values into the daily classroom routine
- Observe and document each scholar's developmental milestones, behaviors, and progress; communicate findings with parents and administration regularly
- Establish and maintain consistent daily routines including circle time, meals, rest, play, and transitions to provide toddlers with a sense of security
- Build warm, trusting relationships with scholars and their families through open, proactive, and respectful communication
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure a cohesive, high-quality classroom experience
- Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally stimulating classroom environment in compliance with Florida DCF health and safety standards
- Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
- Complete all required documentation including daily reports, incident reports, attendance records, and developmental assessments in a timely manner
- Partner with parents to support continuity of care between home and school, including sharing daily updates on feeding, rest, and developmental activities
- Follow all academy policies, DCF licensing requirements, and mandated reporter obligations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- DCF 45-Hour Childcare Training Certificate (required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (preferred)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with toddlers or in a licensed childcare setting (strongly preferred)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Level 2 background screening clearance (required per Florida DCF)
- Alignment with the academy's Christian mission, values, and standards of conduct
- Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills specific to toddler-age children

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
