Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and menu plans
- Assist in menu planning to ensure variety, nutritional balance, and appealing presentation
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and hospitality
- Support food preparation activities including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Contribute to catering events or special meal services as needed
- Use knife skills skillfully for precise food preparation tasks
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination or spoilage
Experience
- Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal assembly, and food industry standards is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen operations including food safety protocols and sanitation practices is essential
- Experience with catering or serving large groups enhances your suitability for this role
- Culinary experience demonstrating proficiency with knife skills and meal prep techniques is beneficial
