Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care by assessing patient needs, monitoring vital signs, and performing physical examinations with precision.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and other specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, memory care, and behavioral health conditions with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient interactions thoroughly and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients through procedures like catheterization, venipuncture, tube feeding, sterile processing, and specimen collection/processing while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care strategies to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Conduct patient assessments including intake procedures, physiological evaluations, and diagnostic evaluations using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Assist in emergency situations by managing airway issues, ventilator support, or acute trauma responses within Level I or Level II trauma center environments.
- Provide specialized care for populations such as pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in home or community settings.
Experience
- Proven experience as an LPN in various healthcare environments including hospitals (emergency room experience preferred), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or emergency medicine is highly desirable; familiarity with Level I Trauma Centers is a plus.
- Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics—including memory care—and chronic disease management like infectious disease care or cardiology.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10; CPT).
- Knowledge of advanced procedures including spinal taps, gastric lavage, dialysis support, or cardiac catheterization is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including children (working with children/toddler care), seniors (senior care), and individuals with disabilities or mental health needs.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS), sterile technique practices, phlebotomy skills, injection administration expertise, and infection control protocols are required to ensure safe patient care.
