Job Summary
The Regional Manager is responsible for managing sales, operations, and profitability of multiple Sales Centers within a designated region of the Company. The primary purpose of this position is to achieve revenue and operating profit growth targets through effective leadership and represent Baker Distributing as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum sales. Each Center is an established wholesale HVAC, Refrigeration, Food Services distributorship that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies. The Regional Manager assumes full responsibility for HVAC residential and contractor sales, including support products, and will manage the General Sales Force and Sales Center Managers of our Sales Centers. The ultimate goal of this role is to develop a strong team of Sales Representatives and efficient Sales Centers that are able to sell, acquire and maintain a strong customer base while managing the Operations integrity and controls supporting and collaborating with the Regional Operations Manager.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities
- Provide leadership and support for the achievement of regional business objectives, including sales growth, customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and profitability.
- Execute company sales strategies, programs, and initiatives to support revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, customer relationships, and distribution channels within the assigned region.
- Establish performance expectations and goals for direct reports and communicate business priorities, opportunities, and challenges.
- Analyze business performance and implement solutions to support operational and sales objectives.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Sales Center Managers, Operations Managers, and other regional personnel.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of multiple sales center locations to support productivity, operational efficiency, and customer service objectives.
- Support the training, development, and performance management of employees across sales, warehouse, shipping/receiving, delivery, showroom, warranty, counter sales, and inside sales functions.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, dealer events, conferences, industry functions, and other business-related activities.
- Support regional marketing initiatives, promotional programs, open houses, customer events, and other business development activities.
- Participate in industry events, training programs, and professional development opportunities to maintain knowledge of products, services, market trends, and industry developments.
- Support the resolution of customer concerns and service issues in collaboration with internal teams and business partners.
- Manage inventory investment strategies through planning, forecasting, analysis, and collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vendors and supply chain partners to support inventory management, product availability, and business objectives.
- Analyze market conditions, competitive information, pricing trends, and customer needs to support regional pricing strategies and profitability goals.
- Monitor and manage regional financial performance, including budget and profit-and-loss accountability.
- Partner with Regional Operations Managers, Sales Center Managers, and other stakeholders to optimize business processes, operational effectiveness, and financial results.
- Lead regional business planning activities and support the development, implementation, and measurement of growth strategies and performance objectives.
- Foster communication and collaboration among regional teams to support business goals and organizational success.
- Partner with Human Resources and operational leadership on recruiting, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and workforce planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
- Five (5) years of experience in operations, business management, distribution, wholesale, or a related industry required. Experience within the HVAC distribution industry is preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience developing and maintaining relationships with residential and commercial contractors, customers, or other business partners.
- Demonstrated experience supporting business objectives in areas such as sales, marketing, operations, customer service, or team leadership.
- Experience developing and executing business plans, growth strategies, or operational initiatives that contribute to market growth, customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, or financial performance.
- Experience leading, coaching, training, or supporting employees and teams in achieving established performance goals and business objectives.

Travel
- Frequent travel to all locations within your assigned geographic region is required.
Supervisory
- This role provides direct supervision to Sales Center Managers, Territory Managers, and indirect supervision to field personnel within the assigned region.
